Dear Member We’ve been having some issues with the Chapter website, so we haven’t been able to update things in a while. Please find available on the site now presentations from May’s event, “The Next Generation Business Analyst,” and June’s event, “Business Process Modeling: A Hospitality Case Study.” Both presentations can be found on the Past Events page. Thanks to everyone who attended the Greater Philadelphia Chapter's July event. We held the 3rd Annual Speednetting Event at Tir Na Nog in Center City Philadelphia, PA. As always, we’ve received great feedback and will be continuing the tradition for years to come! For the month of August, we’ll be taking a little break and will resume Chapter meetings in September. September Event Please hold the date for the September event. This will be our first "Birds of a Feather" Roundtable Discussion. The event will take place on September 24, 2008 at Allianz Life / Delaware Valley Financial Services (DVFS) in Berwyn, PA. (More details and directions to follow) This event is sponsored by IT Magic Hat. Attendees will into 5 groups for interactive, facilitated discussions around certain topics. Each discussion will be 15 – 20 minutes and while in the group, each participant will record 3 take-aways from the discussion. After the 15 – 20 minute discussion, the participants move to another group, another topic of discussion. After the meeting, all of the take-aways from each discussion will be posted on the Chapter’s website for all to review. Member Participation: We need facilitators for this meeting. Some topics that will be available for discussion are: Agile Methodology Risk Management (in Business Analysis) Business Process Modeling / Change Management form the BA Perspective Building a Business Case How do you find business value in updating and managing legacy systems? Skill Set Requirements for BAs Preparing your CBAP Application If you would like to participate and be a facilitator for one of the above topics (or one of your own), please send your name and topic to the Chapter.
